Sexual Predator Sentenced to 15 Years to Life for Rape of Girl in Town of Union
A man arrested in North Carolina for sexually assaulting a Broome County girl under the age of 13 over a three-month period will spend 15 years to life in prison.
38-year-old Raymond Hansel was sentenced February 13 for his conviction in October on three felony rape charges and felony predatory sexual assault against a child.
The Broome County District Attorney’s office says Hansel engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct against the child in the Town of Union area.
He had been arrested in July of 2018 and initially faced up to 25 years in prison for each of the three rape charges.
According to a Linkedin profile, Hansel worked as a sales engineer-carrier for Spectrum enterprise in the Charlotte, North Carolina area starting in late 2017. The site also lists him as a network engineer for Endicott Interconnect Technologies for 2 years, 8 months beginning in January of 2010.
