Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say a Savannah, New York man is being charged with felony rape after officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at the McBride Trailer Park in the Town of Preble at 2:07 a.m. December 17.

Officials say 36 year old Donald Allen and the victim apparently had gone out for the evening but before returning to the victim’s home, Allen drove to a remote area where he allegedly physically and sexually assaulted the victim.

Authorities say the victim was eventually able to convince Allen to drive her to a relative's house and the family member contacted the Sheriff's Office.

The victim was taken to Cortland Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.  Officials say, due to the nature of the investigation, the extent of the woman's injuries are not being disclosed.

Allen is charged with felony strangulation, felony assault and misdemeanor counts of unlawful imprisonment, criminal mischief and forcible touching.

He was sent to the Cortland County Jail.

Sheriff’s officials say the investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible.
