Five men who don’t consider themselves heroes are being honored as just that following the rescue of a woman trapped in her car during a ten vehicle pileup on Route 17 in Binghamton August 24.

Binghamton Mayor Richard David has presented Ed Staff, Albert Fiori, Chris White, Doug Kumpon and Fred Teribury with keys to the City for running to the aid of the woman and pulling her from her car before it became engulfed in flames.

The men said they just did what was right and worked together as a team.

The woman has asked to remain anonymous but reportedly has had an emotional reunion with her rescuers.

Ten people were taken to hospitals with injuries in the crash that snarled traffic for hours.  Authorities say it was amazing no one was killed.
