Three Hurt in Endicott Pizza Shop “Drive-Thru” Crash
A popular pizzeria on Endicott's North Side is bouncing back after a vehicle smashed through a large window.
The spectacular crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. Friday at Rossi's Pizza at 332 Oak Hill Avenue.
Authorities said a 2014 Jeep Compass sport utility vehicle backed through the window. The driver was a 55-year-old Endwell woman whose name was not released. The SUV had been parked in the lot in front of the business when it suddenly lurched backwards into the building.
Endicott police said three employees who were working inside Rossi's Pizza were injured. One worker was taken to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City to be evaluated. Two others were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.
According to a social media post from the business: "It was a very scary moment for all of our employees and one they will never forget. It could have been much worse."
The post indicated it was fortunate "that none of our electrical or gas lines were affected" by the crash.
Police said the crash investigation was continuing. There was no word on possible charges.
