The Binghamton Mets shut out New Britain 7-0 in the first of a three-game series.  Both teams are fighting for playoff spots in the tightly bunched East Division of the Eastern League.  Binghamton is 42-41 while New Britain is 42-42.  In the East Trenton has a two-game lead over Reading. New Hampshire and New Britain are four games behind while the B-Mets are four and one-half games out of first place.

July 6 the Portland Sea Dogs topped the B-Mets 5-4. Dustin Lawley went 2-4 at the plate and ripped a home run while driving in three runs.  Josh Rodriguez had three hits and one RBI for Binghamton.
