The New York State Department of Conservation is taking reservations from women for a workshop to help them hone their outdoors skills.

Some of the classes being offered in the "Becoming an Outdoors-Woman" (BOW) workshop September 7-9 include foraging for wild food, doing yoga on a paddleboard, nature photography, camping and bowhunting.

The workshop at Greek Peak is limited to 125 registrants. Participants will be selected by lottery. Applications sent to NYS Outdoors-Woman, 625 Broadway, 5th Floor, Albany, NY 12233-4754 must be postmarked by June 28. The cost is about $325 per person. The fee includes lodging for 2 nights, meals and the cost of the classes.
