“Hottest” Spot in Downtown Binghamton Is Expanding
Temperatures soared into the 90s for a couple of days this week but that wasn't hot enough for some people in the Binghamton area.
Visitors to one downtown business are able to pay a few dollars for the opportunity to spend an hour in a room that's a sultry 104 degrees.
It's located inside a place called Little Martha Yoga on North Depot Street. It's located in a big brick building that was constructed in the 1880s and first served as a cigar factory.
The business bills itself as "The Hottest Thing in Bing." It's been offering yoga and fitness classes since 2022.
Owner Rob Baxter said most sessions are full and people are "getting in great shape and having a good time doing it." About two-dozen enthusiasts can participate in each class.
Baxter said the "hot room" has been so popular that another one is under construction to accommodate the demand.
He said the yoga studio has been popular with Binghamton University students and with area residents.
