Pre-Trial Testimony for Accused Trooper Killer

Pre-trial proceedings are underway in Broome County Court for a Florida man charged with first degree murder and other counts for allegedly intentionally running down New York State Trooper Christopher Skinner as Skinner was conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 81 May 29, 2014.

Testimony March included witnesses relaying comments made by 62 year old Almond Upton claiming Jesus and the Devil told him to do it, confessing to Troopers he “killed him” and saying that he didn’t recall how he got to Broome County, saying he went into a “Time Warp”.

Upton’s Defense Attorney is seeking to consider him not responsible due to mental illness.

The trial is due to start July 5.
