A local refuse collection company is climbing on-board the observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Taylor Garbage has paired with an Owego couple touched by breast cancer to provide pink Taylor Garbage cans and awareness ribbons with the goal of collecting two million bottles for “Kans for the Kure” to be donated to the Traci’s Hope charity for breast cancer research.

Ryan and Jocelyn Kline and Taylor Garbage hope the can and bottle collection will raise $100,000 for Traci’s Hope.

In addition to the collection by Taylor Garbage, volunteers plan to walk the streets of Broome and Tioga counties this month to collect cans and bottles inside pink garbage cans.

Donations can also be dropped off at A&S Redemption Center in Owego and Shelly’s Redemption Center in Tioga Center.
