Getting screened for breast cancer is probably not the most pleasant thing women experience, but it could save your life.

According to the American Cancer Society, one out of eight women will develop some form of breast cancer in their lifetime, and those are frightening statistics.

This year alone close to 300,000 new cases are expected for women, and over 2600 for men.

According to a news release Tioga Opportunities is partnering with Lourdes to help make screening easier for many with the Mobile Mammography Van.

On Wednesday July 28, 2021 the Mobile Mammography Van will be on location at Tioga Opportunities Inc Family Clinic at 110 Central Ave in Owego from 9am to 4pm.

If you are 40 or older, have no current breast problems or symptoms, no history of breast surgery, or had a biopsy over a year ago with benign results, you are eligible to stop by.

You do not have to be a patient of Lourdes, or insured and no referral is needed, your results can be sent to your health care provider if so desired.
