Restaurant Special: Former Apalachin Perkins Site to Be Sold
An aspiring entrepreneur might be able to get a good deal on the property that had been home to a Perkins Restaurant and Bakery just west of Vestal.
An auction for the site on Route 434 in Apalachin is scheduled for next month.
Rick Searles, a senior broker for CBRE, said an online auction that had been planned for last spring was postponed. It has been rescheduled for August 9 through 11.
The online listing for the former 4,800-square-foot "retail building" indicates a starting bid of $200,000. It indicates the kitchen and appliances for the restaurant cost $529,000 when they were installed.
The Perkins restaurant closed without advance notice last October. It had opened in July 2017. The eatery was located next to a Comfort Inn hotel.
When the Apalachin restaurant opened, Beth Ann Smith of Rajumaanar Enterprises had said the company would explore sites for other Perkins units in the region.
Tioga County property records show the site was sold to Kardichor, LLC for $50,000 in January 2021.
