Owego Man Charged with Sexual Abuse

A Tioga County resident has been accused of having sexual contact with a child.

Authorities say 27-year-old Dustin Merrill of Owego was arrested on Monday.

According to New York State Police, Merrill was charged with second-degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor.

Investigators say Merrill was arrested after troopers were informed that he had sexual contact with someone under the age of 14.

Merrill was arraigned in Barton town court. He was sent to Tioga County Jail on $1,500 bail.
