The Owego First Friday celebration will kick off the new year with a new and interesting exhibition of art beginning January 8th

The Tioga Arts Council will open its gallery doors this Friday from 11am to 8pm to a brand-new exhibition called “A Fellowship of Curious Minds”

The exhibit is a collection by Andy Hafer and Chris Knickerbocker, and will be available through January 30th Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Tioga Arts Council’s Gallery, located at 179 Front Street, in the village of Owego.

According to a news release from the Tioga Arts Council, the art work it hard to define in terms of Genre, the creations from Hafer and Knickerbocker fall into categories such as, folk art, oddities, and in their words, undiscovered geniuses.

The Owego First Friday will open at 11am January 8th ,with no formal introductions, and all must practice COVID-19 safety protocols, which include wearing a mask, and keeping safe distances from others.

Groups consisting of four people or more, are asked to consider making an appointment before your visit, to avoid waiting to be allowed into the exhibits.
