New York State Police say an elderly northwestern, New York man is being treated for serious injuries after he lost control of his car on a snow-covered road in the Town of West Monroe at 2:40 p.m. February 25 and crashed into an Oswego County snow plow.

87-year-old Bert Hyland of Bernards Bay was thrown from his vehicle and found under a guide rail.  Hyland’s car then hit a car behind the plow on State Route 49 injuring the car's driver. The Cleveland, New York woman suffered minor injuries.

Hyland was being treated at Upstate University Hospital hospital for internal injuries and was last listed in stable condition.

Authorities say the investigation is continuing.
