Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Regular travelers through Vestal may want to start re-thinking their route if they normally take Vestal Road to avoid traffic signals on the Parkway.

Starting Friday, May 20, Old Vestal Road is being restricted to one, eastbound lane between Bunn Hill Road and Murray Hill Road to accommodate construction at the sewage treatment plant.

Westbound traffic is prohibited for the next two years.

The ramp from Route 434 to Old Vestal Road will be open to local traffic only.

Officials say the road closures are not expected to cause any disruption in BC transit bus service or other businesses along Old Vestal Road.

Westbound motorists will have to use the Vestal Parkway between Bunn Hill and Murray Hill for the long-term.
