Emergency Services officials in the region report they have all been advised to keep up on the water levels in area streams and rivers while ice jamming continues to plague flood-prone areas.

Late January 24, the New York State Department of Transportation was alerted to ice jams on Kattellville Road in the Town of Chenango and on River Road in Deposit but no major flooding has been reported.

Earlier in the day, rising waters prompted flood warnings on the Chenango River in Greene and the Susquehanna River in Vestal.  The flooding was minor river-bank overflows and the warnings were lifted last night.

Warmer temperatures are again predicted for the weekend but no new rain or snow precipitation to speak of.  Still water levels could go up and ice jam due to the freezing and thawing over the next few days.
