NY on PAUSE Extended Through April 29
It’s another three weeks of working and learning at home in New York State.
Governor Andrew Cuomo April 6 announced the extension of the New York on PAUSE order keeping non-essential workers at home and schools closed to April 29.
The Governor says he understands the grave impact on keeping businesses closed for several more weeks but he said during his briefing “as I said from day one, I’m not going to choose between public health and economic activity because in either event, public health still demands that we stay on pause with businesses closed and schools closed.”
The New York State Board of Regents April 6 informed schools that the upcoming Regents exams are canceled and to expect further instruction April 7 .
Meanwhile, a First Responders Fund has been set up to assist with expenses and costs, including child care for health care workers and first responders working on the front lines in the fight against the coronavirus. The State Department of Health is accepting donations for the fund at www.healthresearch.org/donation-form/.
Governor Cuomo also announced a chance for New Yorkers to find a little mental release from the stress of the coronavirus pandemic. Residents can access a collection of science-backed guided meditation and at-home mindful workouts at www.headspace.com/ny.
