An abandoned bank building has just been transformed into the Binghamton-area's latest Taco Bell restaurant.

The new eatery is located in the former Chemung Canal Trust branch office on Route 17C in the town of Owego.

The restaurant, which will be operated by Hospitality Syracuse, will be the first Taco Bell in Tioga County. It's the second Taco Bell to open in the Binghamton region this year.

Operations at a Taco Bell on Upper Front Street in the town of Chenango started in late August. That location is operated by a different franchisee - Haza Bell of Northeast LLC.

Jessica Woodburn of Hospitality Syracuse told WNBF News the Owego restaurant actually open for a couple of hours Monday evening to test out the equipment ahead of the official opening.

It's scheduled to start operating at 7 a.m. Wednesday with its breakfast menu offerings. The full menu will be available starting at 9 a.m.

Woodburn said the Owego restaurant will be the 114th Taco Bell location operated by the Hospitality Restaurant Group.
