The New York State Department of Transportation is talking about how to fix up another gateway to the City of Binghamton.

The DOT is taking comments on the proposed transformation of State Route 363 into a “multi-modal, at-grade gateway corridor.”

Officials say the Brandywine Highway was constructed in the early 1960s and serves as an expressway in and out of the City and only provides limited access to downtown Binghamton with even fewer accommodations for bicycles and pedestrians.

The project is in the Scoping Phase right now.  That includes evaluating conceptual redevelopment ideas.

For more information about the project, contact Project Manager, Drew Newby by email at 363Gateway@dot.ny.gov, by telephone at (607) 721-8631 or by mail at 44 Hawley Street, Regional Design Office 12th Floor, Binghamton NY 13901.
