The New York State Department of Transportation has announced the completion of the $1.1-million project to replace the culvert under Dilly Road to make for more efficient water flow under the road, reducing erosion and enhancing the safety of motorists traveling to and from State Route 7.

The Town of Colesville owns Dilly Road and assisted in the project. It will maintain the new, pre-cast concrete box culvert.

Most of the construction took six months last summer in order to comply with stream work restrictions and minimize the impact on the school bus routes.
