New York School Districts Brace for Budget Votes
Local school districts join others around New York State May 15 keeping an eye on returns as residents vote on prospective school budgets.
Most of the local districts have kept any project tax levy increase within the state mandated limit.
Vestal’s budget has come under fire in recent days over a proposed tax levy increase while the district maintains a multi-million dollar fund surplus. The district has said keeping a good fund balance shows a strong financial base.
