New York Reaches Contract Agreement With Police Union
State University of New York law enforcement officers, Park Police and officers with the Department of Environmental Conservation will be getting a raise under a new contract agreement.
New York State and the Police Benevolent Association of New York have agreed to a four-year, retroactive contract agreement running until March, 2023. The deal was ratified this week by the 1200 members of the P.B.A.
In a statement from Governor Kathy Hochul’s Office, the Democrat says the terms of the agreement reflect recognition of the importance of the job.
The contract includes at two percent salary increase per year of each year of the agreement and is consistent with other settlements with other State employees.
The deal also resolved over 160 grievances and other litigation and increases joint labor-management funding for training and employee benefits. Agreements on technology, body-worn cameras and scheduling were also contained in the pact.
