Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say it was a Syracuse man who was killed when he was standing outside a wrecked car on Interstate 81 north just south of the Homer exit ramp at 2:30 a.m. April 9 and the car was hit by another vehicle driven by a North Carolina man.

22 year old Aaron Rosario was one of four people in the Kia who got out after the driver lost control and the car hit a guiderail before being hit by the second car.

The investigation continues.

The crash closed a portion of the highway for several hours while authorities conducted accident reconstruction and other activities.
