Completed Project Involves Two Buildings
The two completed buildings at 29 to 31 and 32 to 34 Munsell Street, Binghamton, feature a total of 12 units, located next to an 18-unit homeless housing project that opened in 2023 at 39 to 49 Munsell Street. That project provides supportive housing to formerly homeless families and individuals.
According to the announcement from Mayor Kraham, upon request, tenants will receive supportive case management services from Greater Opportunities. Of the 12 units, 6 are reserved for seniors ages 62 and over, and the remaining six units will be occupied by low-income individuals and families under 80 percent AMI.
This project has transformed blighted vacant lots into much-needed affordable housing for seniors and families. It’s the latest major investment in Binghamton’s North Side and an example of the change we’re delivering to neighborhoods across Binghamton, block by block. My thanks to New York State Homes and Community Renewal for supporting this project with funding and to Greater Opportunities for Broome and Chenango, Inc., for their continued partnership and leadership on tackling the statewide housing crisis. - City of Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham
