Motorcyclist Killed In Apalachin Crash

A man died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car in Tioga County.

The crash happened shortly before two o'clock Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Route 434 and Pennsylvania Avenue in Apalachin.

State police say the operator of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as 43 year-old Auburn D. Lyons of South Gibson, Pa.

The roadway near the crash site was closed for a few hours while a crash reconstruction team began its investigation.

No charges were immediately filed.

The Apalachin fire department and ambulance squad assisted troopers at the scene.
