More Prospect Mountain Construction & Detours

The New York State Department of Transportation says pavement work is continuing on State Route 17 eastbound between exit 71 (Airport Road) and exit 72 (Front Street) in Binghamton with the highway reduced to a single lane between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Traffic is also reduced to a single lane westbound between exit 72 (Mygatt Street) and exit 71 (Airport Road) during those same hours for the removal of sheet piles in the area of the future Prospect Street Connection.

A new detour is also in place as the southbound on-ramp from State Route 7 to Interstate 81 south is closed. Motorists travelins south on State Route 7 will detoured to State Street to Bevier Street onto Broad Street. Interstate 81 southbound traffic is being directed to the interstate on-ramp on Broad Street.
