Vestal Police reported the alert looking for 87-year-old Charles McGlynn had been cancelled by about 11:30 p.m. December 26.

Few details are available other than McGlynn, who had last been seen at 3 p.m. Christmas Day, had been located and is safe.

McGlynn reportedly had contacted one relative in Endicott on Tuesday afternoon but never arrived and then contacted another relative saying he was going to the Syracuse area to look into buying a vehicle.

The man’s wife told authorities that McGlynn had no formal diagnosis of any cognitive issues but had seemed confused lately.

Police issued an alert shortly after 10 a.m. December 26 asking for the public’s help in locating the man.

Authorities have not offered any information about how or where McGlynn was found but thanked the public for its help and concern about the man’s welfare.
