Pennsylvania State Police say a Montrose woman who had been reported missing May 5 after texting family to say she crashed when swerving to avoid hitting a deer is okay.

Troopers say 48 year old Beth Ann Decker was found safe and in good health at around 2 p.m. May 7.

The woman’s message to her family Friday afternoon said she drove down an embankment after swerving to miss the deer, didn’t know where she was and was stuck in her vehicle.

Decker’s cell phone was turned off right after she contacted her daughter.

State Police did not indicate where Decker was found.
