The Broome County SAFE Coalition and (MHAS) the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier Announce the winners of their sidewalk art contest “Chalk the Walk and Have a Talk”

September is Suicide awareness month and earlier this month BC SAFR and MHAST hosted a full week of action that involved the community in creating sidewalk art in observance of World Suicide Prevention Day.

Chalk the Walk and have a talk encouraged individuals to safely create beautiful sidewalk and pavement art with messages to reflect hope and resilience to draw awareness and prevention of suicide.

During the week of action, chalked walks were entered to choose entries in different categories to win prizes.

They included Most Thoughtful Message, Most “likes” on Facebook, and Most Creative.
