Man Reportedly Stabbed in Chest on Binghamton’s North Side
Binghamton police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in a North Side residence.
Authorities were sent to 500 Chenango Street around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday after a man was reported to have been stabbed in a three-story apartment building.
Medics evaluated the man in a fire department ambulance before transporting him to a hospital for treatment. He apparently had sustained a wound to the upper chest. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
A man who was sought in connection with the stabbing was gone when police arrived at the scene. He was believed to have fled the area in a car.
The incident happened in the building that had housed the North Side Pharmacy for more than four decades.
The stabbing was the latest in a series of violent attacks across Binghamton over the past three weeks.
Police are continuing to investigate the death of 12-year-old Aliza Spencer, who was shot while walking near her home on April 21.
A man was shot April 30 at an apartment house on Tremont Avenue. 31-year-old Victor Texidor died after he was shot in a Floral Avenue parking lot. Suspects have been arrested in the two most recent shooting investigations.
