A former Tennessee congressional candidate who is accused of planning a large, violent assault on a Muslim community outside of Hancock is to appear in Federal Court early next month.

65-year old Robert Doggart is accused of trying to recruit others through social media to bomb and burn the Islamberg community. His federal trial for civil rights violations, and solicitation to commit arson has been delayed several times.

The FBI wiretapped conversations in 2015 in which they claimed Doggart plotted the attack to destroy a mosque and homes and to kill men, women, and children in the settlement.

The trial is now scheduled to start February 6th.

In April, Muslims of America Inc. added a civil lawsuit against Doggart.
