The Binghamton Mets magic number to clinch the Eastern League's Eastern Division regular season championship is now three.  Any combination of Binghamton wins and Trenton losses totaling three will clinch the title.

Binghamton can take another step towards that crown tonight as they host the Bowie Baysox at 6:35 PM (airtime 6:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  Bowie is the Eastern League affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.  Left-hander Darin Gorski  is the scheduled B-Mets pitcher.  Gorski is 4-1 with an earned run average of 2.05.  He makes his 11th start of the season for Binghamton. He'll be opposed by right-hander Devin Jones who has a record of 4-5 and an ERA of 5.72.

The B-Mets are 12-5 so far this month.  Pitching has been the key with Binghamton posting a league-best 2.36 ERA in August.  The B-Mets last won a division title in 2000.  They have not won an Eastern League title since 1994.  Binghamton has won two Eastern League championships.  Along with 1994 the B-Mets captured the crown in their inaugural season in 1992.
