Maine-Endwell has won the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pa. with a 2-1 victory over South Korea.  Maine-Endwell defeated Goodlettsville, Tennessee 4-2 on Saturday to capture the United States Championship.  South Korea defeated Panama 7-2 to earn the International Championship.  That set the stage for the overall World Series Championship battle between the two winners.

The game was a 0-0 deadlock heading into the fourth inning when Conner Rush drove in Jude Abbadessa to give M-E a 1-0 advantage. Ryan Harlost, M-E's starting and winnning pitcher, then scored from third base on a strikeout that got by the South Korea catcher to make it a 2-0 lead.  South Korea got one run back in the fifth inning but that was all they could muster against Harlost and the World Championship belonged to M-E. M-E becomes the first United States team to win the World crown since 2011.There will be a number of events held over the next few days to honor the incredible accomplishments made by Maine-Endwell.

Tom Picciano, Kathy Whyte and Bob Joseph will have information on a planned parade in the Town of Union and other events to celebrate Maine-Endwell's World Series Championship tomorrow morning beginning at 5:30 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
