Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Officials involved in the repairs and renovations at the Binghamton Johnson City Joint Sewage Treatment Plant say plans for single-lane traffic on Vestal Road are still in place but the start date is unclear.

Motorists on the Vestal Parkway have noticed an electronic sign announcing Vestal Road was to be closed soon and to expect delays, but have not encountered any new traffic patterns other than the narrowed lanes near the sewage plant that has been in effect for months.

City of Binghamton officials say the plan was to have the single lane alternating traffic in effect this week, but a piece of large equipment for the project has not yet arrived.  When it is in place, the traffic delays can be expected for what City Hall called: “the long term.”
