An ice cream parlor near Binghamton's baseball stadium is expected to start operations in the next few days.

Developer Mark Yonaty at one point suggested the shop in a brick building at the base of the Marconi Tower on Lewis Street might be torn down before the business would hold an official opening.

Yonaty last summer said he'd been frustrated in his effort to address some issues with a city employee. But he now says "all problems are resolved with the city."

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Yonaty said workers for the Scoopy Dooby ice cream shop were being trained and "all of our inventory is in."

No formal opening date has been announced but Yonaty said he hopes it happens "very, very soon."
