Local Girl Scouts Host Cookies and Beer Tasting
The local council of the Girl Scouts is hoping grown ups that like their annual sweet treats will also be game to pair their cookies with something a little stronger.
The Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways Council is hosting something they’re calling “Cookies Untapped.” It’s their first-ever cookies and beer tasting fundraiser.
Binghamton residents will have to arrange transportation, however, since the event is being held in October in Syracuse.
Tickets are $65 per person.
The tasting will be held October 7 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Collegian Hotel and Suites on East Genesee Street in Syracuse.
People must be 21 years of age and older and proof of age identification is required for entry into the event.
Reservations are being accepted through October 6 at gsnypenn.org/cookiesuntapped.
Organizers say guests can sample all ten cookie varieties available through the NYPENN Pathways Council, including the brand-new Raspberry Rally cookie before they can even be ordered this coming January.
Each Girl Scout cookie will be paired with a New York State craft beer selected by a New York craft beer brewer.
Doors open and a silent auction begins at 5:30. The pouring starts at 6 p.m.
In addition to the tasting tickets, the price of admission includes a tote bag, collectible glass, light fare and live music. There will also be a cash bar if someone fancies something other than beer with their cookies.
The hotel is also offering accommodations at a discount rate for guests who don’t want to travel. Reservations can be made by calling 315-701-4312 and mention code “Girl Scouts Untapped.”
