Lawmakers approved a budget November 7 that reduces property taxes a full one-percent partially by reducing short-term borrowing.

Officials say the Finance Committee recommended several adjustments to Garnar’s $401-million budget that was presented in mid-September after holding review meetings with various County departments.

Lawmakers say they were able to cut the proposed short-term borrowing amount from $20-million to $7-million.

The Executive will schedule a public hearing before making vetoes or signing the revised spending plan.
