Most adults have a hard enough time managing their finances, so let’s talk to kindergarten students.

NBT Bank’s Strive Financial Literacy Program visited the Ann G. McGinness Elementary School kindergarten classes at 1:30 p.m. April 26 to teach the tots how to track and meet savings goals.

The event leads up to Teach Children to Save Day.

The day is an American Bankers Association event to help teach children about money.

NBT Bank Branch Manager Anthony Dannibale says they talk to young students, putting money management in terms they understand like how the size of coins and bills is not the same as their value.  The children also are taught about how some money decisions are not so good.
