The Johnson City Police dogs could be getting some help if residents make an effort to vote online.  The Village Police Department is hoping for a $5,000 grant from a group called “Aftermath” to benefit K9s Cruz and Anouk. The Village is among dozens of police agencies around the country competing for the funds, including over a dozen in the Southern Tier and Central New York.

Residents can vote every 24 hours at www.aftermath.com/k9grant until October 31.

Aftermath is a crime scene cleanup and biohazard removal company that also specializes in cleaning scenes of communicable diseases, blood, hoarder cleanup and tear gas removal.

In addition to Johnson City, Afton, Bainbridge, Binghamton, Cortland, Delhi, Deposit, Endicott, New Berlin, Norwich, Oneonta, Owego, Oxford, Sidney, Spencer and Vestal are local agencies in the competition for the funding.
