The replacement of the Juneberry Road Bridge is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. June 18 and continue to the end of October. The bridge will be closed to traffic for the duration of the project.  Motorists will find a signed detour route.

Structural deficiencies are to be addressed and the hydraulic capacity of the bridge increased with the project.

The bridge over Big Choconut Creek was built in 1962 and is frequently submerged during flooding.  To address that problem, the bridge is being raised about four feet during the project.

Questions can be directed to Broome County Project Manager Brenda Gowe or the County Department of Public Works Engineering Division at (607) 778-2470.

The County has also set up a Facebook informational page for NYSDOT PIN 9754.46.
