Johnson City Teen Found With Loaded Handgun Following Disturbance
A Johnson City teen is being charged with felony weapon possession after Village Police say they responded to a report of two armed men in a disturbance on Saint Charles Street on November 13.
Authorities say they located 19-year-old Malik Melendez through information provided by the 911 caller and found him with a loaded .25 caliber handgun.
Johnson City Police say they also found Melendez was in possession of marijuana and crack cocaine.
He’s been charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance and a violation of unlawful possession of marijuana in addition to the felony weapon count.
Melendez was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
