A Johnson City man is being ordered to serve four years in state prison for felony criminally possessing weapons charges and two to six years for lesser weapon possession counts.

65 year old Ramadan Abdullah was found guilty in November for having a large cache of weapons, ammunition and armature for which he did not have proper permits and sentenced February 8.

The weapons and ammunition were found in several locations after police launched an investigation into a report of a shoplifter taking rounds of ammunition from Gander Mountain in Johnson City.

At the least, Abdullah is looking at three years in prison to be followed by post-release supervision.  The State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision will determine how much time Abdullah spends in prison.

Defense Lawyer Matthew claims Abdullah was racially and religiously profiled for being black and a Muslim and had been labeled a “terrorist.”  An appeal is planned.
