A Johnson City man is expected to be sentenced to a lengthy prison term after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge related to sexual conduct with a child.

Village police in 2019 said 51-year-old Jack Cole was arrested following an investigation into a girl's claim she had been sexually assaulted.

According to the Broome County district attorney's office, Cole on Wednesday pleaded guilty to the violent felony charge of course of sexual conduct against a child.

Under the plea agreement, Cole is to be sentenced to 18 years in state prison followed by 20 years of post-release supervision. Sentencing is scheduled for December 8.

Authorities say the girl was 12 years old at the time of the sexual assault.
