Authorities say 36-year-old David White was arrested shortly after the incident was reported.

Detectives say police were called to investigate a possible domestic incident involving a man and a woman.

During the dispute, police say White allegedly held his girlfriend down and threatened to kill her while he was holding a knife.

Investigators say White left the scene before officers arrived at the residence. He was found by police nearby and placed under arrest.

Police say the knife believed to have been used in the incident was recovered.

White has been charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony. He also faces counts of second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child.

White was arraigned in Johnson City village court and sent to Broome County Jail.
