How To Stay Warm In New York This Winter

Bundle Up

The most important thing you can do to stay warm this winter is to dress appropriately. Get yourself a warm winter coat, a cozy hat, and a couple pair of gloves to keep your hands warm and dry. Layer up with a sweatshirt or sweater under your coat. It can make all the difference when the New York wind starts to blow.

Wear Warm Socks and Boots

Your feet can become cold fast and it feels next to impossible getting them warm again. Buy a pair of warm boots that have good traction to stop slips and falls on the icy sidewalks. Don't forget about warm socks to keep your toes toasty.

Drink Hot Beverages

Nothing feels better than a hot beverage on a cold day. Whether it's coffee, tea, or hot cocoa, a steaming mug can warm you up from the inside out. Don't forget the many New York coffee shops and cafes that offer seasonal drinks like peppermint mochas and gingerbread lattes.

Make Use of Heat Sources

If your house isn't the warmest during the winter months, use other heat sources to stay toasty. Get yourself a space heater or snuggle up with some blankets...and a willing partner.  Have a fireplace? Light it up and enjoy the glow and cozy feel.

Stay Active

Staying active helps get your blood flowing and can keep you warm during the winter months. Try indoor activities like yoga...or whatever else comes to mind. if you're feeling adventurous, take a walk through one of the our many beautiful parks.
