New York Study Reveals Growing Loneliness Among Young Men
A new study is letting us know that many young men in New York say they are struggling with loneliness. They surveyed more than 7,000 single men between the ages of 18 and 35 and found that many of them feel disconnected from friendships and dating.
Many Men Say They Have No Female Friends
One of the biggest findings was that half of single young men in New York say they do not have any female friends. Researchers estimate that is more than 761,000 men across the Empire State.
Some men said they can't meet women naturally in everyday life anymore. Others said most of their social time happens online through gaming, streaming, or social media instead of in person.
Many Feel Frustrated With Dating
The study also found that many young men are feeling discouraged about dating. Almost three out of four single men who are not using dating apps said they have given up trying to find a romantic partner.

Some said dating feels stressful and emotionally draining. Others said rejection or bad experiences on dating apps hurt their confidence.
Online Life May Be Replacing Real Connections
Researchers say online life is replacing real-world connections for some people. They found many men spend more time socializing online than face to face. Many men said they would like to have close friendships with women.
Researchers say the results suggest that many young men are not trying to isolate themselves. They just don't feel sure how to connect with people in today’s world. I'm so glad that I don't have to swim in the dating pool.
