Binghamton Black Bears Catch Attention of ESPN
Did you see the latest jaw-dropping moment for the Binghamton Black Bears? I was fortunate to see it in person but some missed it because of the poor weather. The captain of the Binghamton Black Bears, Tyson Kirkby, delivered a goal that's got everyone talking – and for all the right reasons!
Kirkby's gets tripped up, and instead of giving up, he pulls off a magical backhand shot while sliding on the ice and gliding on his gluteus maximus. That's right – a sliding and gliding goal! The crowd went wild, and that goal is going to live in the Binghamton Black Bears hockey highlight reel hall of fame forever.
Kirkby's goal helped get another win for the Black Bears, but it also earned him a spot on ESPN's SportsCenter Top 10. That's some well-deserved recognition for the captain's slick moves and never-say-die attitude.
With Captain Kirkby leading the charge, the Black Bears are showing that they're a force to be reckoned with. With the win, they wrapped up a playoff berth and look to be the first team in the FPHL to "run it back" and win back-to-back championships..
Also, don't forget the heartwarming moment when the young fan, known as "rally kid," got to share in the celebrations– hockey brings people together in the best ways. The goal was such a hit that it landed at the No. 5 spot on ESPN's SportsCenter Top 10 list the next day!
Here's to Tyson Kirkby and his sliding and gliding goal that has us all cheering from the sidelines. It's moments like these that have us going to the arena to see what happens next.
