
Meet FIFI The B29 Superfortress At Greater Binghamton Airport
For enthusiasts of World War II aircraft, or anyone who loves aircraft, an exciting display of planes will be coming to the Greater Binghamton Airport soon.
According to a release from Broome County Executive Jason Garnar, one of the rarest World War II bombers, the B-29 Superfortress “FIFI”, will be landing in Binghamton in June.

It's part of the AirPower History Tour of the Commemorative Air Force. In addition to the B-29, visitors will also get to see a T-6 Texan - "Pilotmaker”, a PT-13 Stearman, and the RC-45J SNB “Big Oily Beast” up close, purchase rides, and tour the B-29 cockpit when the aircraft are not flying, as they bring the sights, sounds, and stories of World War II aviation to the Greater Binghamton Airport.
Schedule of Aircraft
The B-29 Superfortress "FIFI" is scheduled to arrive around Noon on Monday, June 1st, followed by the accompanying aircraft, at the BGM Aviation Services FBO ramp at the Greater Binghamton Airport. One of only two B-29’s in the world still flying, it was acquired by the Commemorative Air Force in 1971. Touring began in 1974 and has been entertaining air show audiences across the country ever since.
This event will be open to the public Tuesday and Wednesday, June 2nd and 3rd, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Access to the ramp where the warbirds are parked is $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 11-17, and free for children 10 and under.
The T-6 Texan, the PT-13 Stearman, and the RC-45J SNB "Big Oily Beast" will be offering rides each day. Cockpit tours of the B-29 "FIFI" will be available each day beginning at noon, or as soon as the aircraft is finished flying for the day.
