Check The Farmer's Almanac Winter Prediction For The Northeast

The weather has been a major topic this summer with all the hot, muggy days we've experienced. We've seen several 90-degree or more days. I remember a time when summer would rarely hit the 90-degree mark or not at all. And the lack of rain has been unusual versus previous recent years as well.

But, I am reminded of our sometimes nasty winters, with extreme cold, snow, and ice. And then, this summer doesn't seem so bad. On the subject of winter, what can we expect for the 2002-2023 season?

Farmer's Almanac 2022-23 Extended Winter Weather Forecast

The Farmer's Almanac has just released its extended winter forecast for the upcoming season. Whether you believe it or not, and everyone has their opinion and statistics, I like to check out what they have to say.

The Farmer's Almanac is predicting plenty of snow, rain, and much for the country as a whole. And they predict record-breaking cold temperatures as well. Their warning is to prepare to "shake, shiver, and shovel" in the Northeast.

Well, that doesn't sound good. And the prediction is for an early kick into winter than last year for some areas of the country in December. We've certainly had nasty winter weather in December more times than we can count. It's just a part of life in the Northeast.

The Farmer's Almanac predicts a cold snap for the Northeast in late January 2023, stating that we might experience some of the coldest weather than we've had in many years, and some areas could see well below zero degrees. Hopefully, that will not happen in the Northeast.

And speaking of the Northeast, The Farmer's Almanac prediction calls for the winter season to be dominated by an active storm track that runs from the Western Gulf of Mexico through New York State and beyond. Not looking forward to that.

Or, it could be a mild winter, and all these predictions will fail to produce. I'll vote for that. Either way, winter will be here soon enough, so enjoy that hot, sticky summer weather while you can. Mother Nature is winding up and getting ready to pitch that winter weather curve ball.
