Day One is in the books, and if my memory is still intact, I believe this the the best Monday we've had in the 23 years of the Food-A-Bago food drive for Broome County CHOW.

And that's on a day that we were hit with constant rain! Normally, Monday is a slow day since it's just the beginning of our annual food drive, but if this is any indication, our community is going to really help out families in need ion our area this year.

The number of individuals and families who stopped by our Food-A-Bago location in the Weis parking lot at 1290 Upper Front Street was amazing, with all ranges of food and cash donations.

To name just a few who donated - Scott, Dylan, Pat, Gary, Cindy, Margo, Ann, Jan, Terry, Joe, Phyliss, Darren, Tim and several who wished to remain anonymous.

And also a big thanks to those businesses who stopped by with grocery cart challenges by filling at least one or two carts of food, including GHS and the Old Union Hotel.

To give the food drive a big kick start, our friends at the Gault Auto group stopped by, and together we went shopping, filling up several carts overflowing with food for Broome County CHOW, plus a $2500 donation from Gault as well.

We will continue to be accepting non-perishable food items and monetary donations of any size all this week from our locations set up in the Weis Food Market parking lot, 1290 Upper Front Street, Binghamton.

Stop by, keep us company! We have Townsquare Binghamton radio personalities on hand during the weekdays from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on the weekend from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thanks also to Joe Stanley of Stanley Law and Music For The Mission, one of our partners for his help as well. Check out the video below of some of the highlights of the day, including our food shopping spree with Gault Auto. We're ready for Day Two!
